Private Kubernetes Platform as a Service | HCI

HCI (Hosted Container Infrastructure) is a Kubernetes cluster orchestration platform based on VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid intended for DevOps and PaaS developers.

HCI provides functionality and usability across AWS Elastic Kubernetes Services, Google Kubernetes Engine, and MS Azure Kubernetes Services.

HCI is deployed on private cloud resources and has a deep and native integration with IaaS, which allows you to consume its resources efficiently (without unnecessary software layers) by standard means (CSI, CNI, K8s Operators) without the need to know the details of its construction.

The platform includes monitoring, updates and 24/7 production grade support.

Private Kubernetes Platform as a Service | HCI

WHEN IS HCI A GOOD SOLUTION?

Planning a transformation

from legacy architecture to Cloud Native and there is a need for a reliable platform that will ensure the functioning of business applications with both types of architecture at the same time

Use Kubernetes from Google/AWS/Azure

but you are not satisfied with their cost and/or level of cost predictability: unpredictable cost of Internet traffic, disk operations, etc.

Created the Kubernetes infrastructure

with an open-source component, but are not satisfied with its stability, performance and labor costs to maintain relevance, as well as the lack of commercial technical support.

Want to reduce unproductive workload

on DevOps and requirements for the level of their qualifications in the "uninteresting" layers of the technology stack: physical equipment, hypervisor virtualization, etc.

Minimize unnecessary expenses

related to planning errors and/or the need to maintain a reserve of resources in case of sudden or periodic increases in needs.

Regulatory restrictions

or corporate policies do not allow the use of public clouds and/or the storage and processing of information outside the organization's perimeter.

HCI (Hosted Container Infrastructure) is a Kubernetes cluster orchestration platform based on VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid intended for DevOps and PaaS developers.

HCI provides functionality and usability across AWS Elastic Kubernetes Services, Google Kubernetes Engine, and MS Azure Kubernetes Services.

With HCI you will be able to

  • Create isolated environments (tenants), set resource consumption limits for them and provide access to them to separate DevOps and development teams.
  • Use patterns of unmodified Kubernetes and other open-source components that are prepared, verified, signed and supported (including updated) by VMware to deploy Kubernetes clusters and related services.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters (create, configure, scale, upgrade, delete), virtual machines, networks, ingress/egress and other infrastructure objects declaratively via TanzuCLI and/or using Kubernetes Cluster API + kubectl + YAML.
  • Use persistent volumes (including read/write many) without the need to deploy additional components such as Ceph and NFS.
  • Use Harbor, Contour, MinIO, Velero, Prometeus, Graphana, FluentBit, Carvel, Sonobouy services integrated into the platform. Cert-Manager, External DNS (the list is constantly expanding).
  • Use the functionality of horizontal autoscaling of Kubernetes clusters (autoscaling) built into the platform.
  • Significantly reduce the unproductive load on DevOps due to the maximum automation of the life cycle management processes of Kubernetes clusters and the platform as a whole.
  • Get access to commercial technical support of the entire technology stack at the level of "production grade support".
